The story behind the name

Izzi is the reason for the name.

The name comes from Izzi, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who brought our family a lot of joy. We built the store to keep that feeling going and give people a place to spend time together.

Brothers Christopher and Nicholas (“Nick”) Hamze founded Izzi's Gym together. Christopher is also the founder of teelaunch, the print-on-demand business from his earlier career.

Meet Christopher Hamze

The name came first

Why we named the store Izzi's.

Izzi's Gym opened in 2025. We named it after Nick Hamze's first dog, Izzi, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who brought our family a lot of love and joy.

Izzi died suddenly at three and a half from a rare autoimmune disease. We later lost our father. During that hard time, building Izzi's Gym gave us a way to carry Izzi's love and joy forward.

We wanted more than a store. We wanted a place where people could share a hobby, make friends, and know they could come back.
